Tandem’s COVID-19 Protocol

In order to continue to facilitate the connection between families and care providers during this time, we are requiring that all users follow our COVID-19 protocol. We strive to keep all Tandem families and providers as safe and at-ease as possible during this overwhelming time.

Providers

To accept a job - You will be asked to confirm that you have not been exposed to someone with COVID-19, have COVID-19, or are sick. We expect you to confirm with complete honesty for the benefit of your health and the health of all Tandem families.

A direct exposure can be defined by prolonged (longer than 15 minutes) and within 6 feet. You cannot accept jobs through Tandem until 14 days after your last exposure.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19, you must be done with the quarantine recommended by your physician.

It is required that you do not accept jobs if you are sick or have any symptoms of COVID-19. According to the CDC, the most common symptoms include fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Symptoms are shown to appear 2-14 days after exposure. It is encouraged that you wash or sanitize your hands before and after jobs, as this is the best way to prevent COVID-19 from being transmitted to a family, and vice versa. In addition, while preparing meals for children, be sure to wipe down surfaces and encourage hand washing before food consumption. Cover all coughs and sneezes, and encourage the same to children you are watching. Fostering safe health practices will help you to do your part to contain and slow the spread of COVID-19.

Providers and Families

Prior to, during, and after a sit - we strongly encourage Tandem families and sitters to abide by the health recommendations of the CDC. Please avoid handshaking, hugging, or other unnecessary physical interactions.

After Tandem has facilitated a connection with a provider, please have an open conversation with this person to make sure you’re on the same page about preventative measures. Tandem encourages open and honest communication on this topic.

It is of utmost priority to Tandem to ensure that Tandem families and sitters feel comfortable and confident using our service, knowing that we have encouraged and required COVID-19 preventive measures. We hope Tandem can make this incredibly apprehensive time a little less stressful.
